Kelham Island Tavern: Britain's Best Again

Sheffield’s Kelham Island Tavern, forced to close after floods hit in 2007, has won CAMRA’s top gong for a second consecutive year.

It’s the first pub to win the Campaign for Real Ale’s National Pub award twice on the trot.

The Kelham Island Tavern, which was described by 2009 judges as a "small gem", was praised for its quality of beer and attention to detail.

Licensee Trevor Wraith said the accolade was a "great achievement".

Camra pubs director Julian Hough said: "The pub's success is thoroughly deserved due to its high attention to detail, service to the surrounding community and quality in all areas, not least in the beer."
