National Cask Ale Week 2010

In its second year, National Cask Ale week is back to celebrate Britain’s national drink from 29th March – 5th April.

Following last year’s success, hundreds of events will once again take place during Easter week across the UK to mark National Cask Ale Week organised by cask ale quality accreditors Cask Marque, CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) and many of the country’s brewers and pub owners and operators.

2009 saw the major brewers, Cask Marque, 6,000 pubs and countless ale lovers pulling together to celebrate all that is good about beer.
And it is with this support that the Great British pint has enjoyed a storming year with more drinkers than ever sampling beer and the number of breweries growing by 12 per cent.

This year National Cask Ale Week is asking ale lovers and ale virgins alike to pull together and continue to support and celebrate this British icon and where possible, introduce a friend to this unique drink.

Widely pitched today as the savior of the Great British pub, cask beer is a natural, fresh product that is sipped and savoured by drinkers. There are flavours to suit every pallet from light, fruity ales to dark bitters, with many pubs serving locally brewed ales, which taps into consumers’ growing interest in local provenance.
